He is survived by: his daughters, Julia Page Proffitt (late Terry O'Gorman) of Galway and Susan Proffitt McKelvey (Brian McKelvey) of Calabash; his grandchildren, Victoria McKelvey, Daniel McKelvey and Oscar O'Gorman; his brothers, Jerry Proffitt (Linda) and Wayne Proffitt (Rosie); and his sister-in-law Barbara Shearin Garbett. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
