He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Thomas and Garver Thomas of Doswell, VA.; his wife Dorothy Grimm Thomas; and his siblings, Ewell Thomas, Dot Rowland and Isabell Woodson.
He is survived by: his son Steven Thomas (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Amanda T. Chelette (Trent) and S. Trent Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Lee and Dillan Chelette. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
As Dot passed during COVID, a celebration of life for Dot and Elmer will be held at a Greenwood United Methodist Church, 10040 Greenwood Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060 on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11AM.
