He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy S. Carter; and his son Dannie Carter, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Rev. Makeda A. Carter, Aisha J. Carter, Brian (Crystal), Bernard Beckham (Victoria), Stephen Williams (Rocio) and Maurice Carter; and his sisters, Doretha Dixon and Carol Carter. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
