He was predeceased by: his father Edward R. Tower; his stepfather Arthur Coddens; his mother-in-law Kay Cook; and his siblings-in-law, Maureen Cook and Peter Cook.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Tower; his mother Joan Weaver Coddens; his sisters, Valerie Holmes and Jacqueline Columbus (Joseph); and his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Cugini (Richard), Patricia Sweeney and Kathleen Mulligan. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
