She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Melvin Carwile; her parents, Willie Newton Walthall and Annie Woodall Walthall; and her son Danny M. Carwile. She is survived by: her children, H. Dale Carwile (Reecia) of Gladys and Brenda G. Carwile (Duane Powers) of Union Hall; her grandchildren, Holly Bell (John) of Gladys, Dewey Carwile (Stacey) of Brookneal and Jennifer Carwile of Nathalie; and her sister Mary Smith (Sylvia McDowell) of Lynchburg. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
