With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eleanor Maddox Dowdy of Gladys, Virginia, born in Nelson, Virginia, who passed away on March 21, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Maddox and Emma Maddox; and her daughter Jacqueline Shifflett. She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Williams (Lowell) of Gladys and Sue Tolley (Ronnie) of Kenbridge; and her siblings, Thomas Maddox (Joyce) of Amherst, Vernie Angus of Waynesboro and Shirley Foster of Monroe. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
