With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bertha Hart Lane (Gladys, Virginia), born in Washington, Virginia, who passed away on February 24, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Jessie Willard Lane; her parents, Samuel Morris Hart and Bessie Caudill Hart; and her son Jessie Willard Lane, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Everette Lane (Bonnie) of Gladys, Marvin Lane (Phyllis) of Lynchburg, Samuel Lane (Tina) of Lynchburg, Hillary Lane (Debra) of Monroe and Shirley Morton (Wayne) of Charlotte Courthouse; her daughter-in-law Lucy Lane of Java; and her siblings, Bobby Hart of Durham, N. C. and Lola Steppe of Lynchburg. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
