She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edgar Childress and Bessie Mae Trivett Childress; and her husband Robert Dean Ritchie. She is survived by: her sons, Mike Ritchie (Marsha Ritchie) and Tony Ritchie (Laurie); her siblings, Maxine Ritchie and Johnny Childress; her grandchildren, Tonya Elliott, Megan Harris (Ryan), Chris Ritchie (Monica) and Travis Ritchie (Morgan); her great grandchildren, Aidan Elliott, Ally Elliott, Abby Elliott, Pierce Ritchie, Sloane Ritchie, Kendall Ritchie, Blair Ritchie, Gus Harris and Lily Harris; and her close friends, Harold Gilley, Herbie and Floyce DeBusk. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Garrett Funeral Home (203 N Shady Ave, Damascus, VA 24236). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home (203 N Shady Ave, Damascus, VA 24236).
Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
