She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Helton and Mable Ann Ratliff Helton; her husband Garland Ira Shortridge; her sons, William Ira Shortridge and Steve Brian "Lookaway" Shortridge; and her sisters, Eula Mae Dye and Brenda Dye.
She is survived by: her son Daniel Shortridge (Ada) of Bardstown, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Devan Shortridge, Stephanie Shortridge, Nathan Cope and Maegan Alvey; her great grandchildren, Benjamin Swetnam and Ira Alvey; and her siblings, Dolly Elswick, Linda Thomas, James Helton, Buford Helton and Larry Helton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
