She was predeceased by: her parents, Bunyan Shively and Essie Shively; her in-laws, Kyle and Gertrude Smith; her brothers, Bobby Shively and Wayne; her sister-in-law Mazel Shively; her brother James; her sister-in-law Bernice Shively; her sister Vicky Shively Fox; her sister-in-law Zelma Boyd (Monroe); and her nephew Everett Wayne Shively, Jr. (Joe).
She is survived by: her husband J. R. Smith; her children, Robert Smith (Kay), David Smith (Cindy), Tony Smith and Christine Smith Cronick (David); her grandchildren, Joshua Adkins (Deliena), Jarrett Adkins (Kayla), Nick Smith (Shaina), Chasity Cooper (Justin), Rees Smith, Ethan Smith, Alyssa Smith, Heather Smith, Kelly Smith and Jack Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Marie Shively, Johnny Fox, Watson Smith (Mary Ann), Darlene Hudson (Mark) and Allen Smith (Patricia). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Glade Hill Baptist Church (6627 Colonial Turnpike #3864, Glade Hill, VA 24092). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
