He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Hensley and Clara Hensley (Calhoun); and his siblings, Mary Rose McDavid, Virginia McDavid, Rev. Arthur "Jack" Hensley, J. P. Hensley and Kelly Hensley.

He is survived by: his wife Eva Grigsby Hensley; his sons, Jerry Lynn Hensley (Sheila) and William Mark Hensley (Margaret); his grandchildren, Justin Hensley (Leslie), Leann Hurd (Jeremy), Matthew Hensley (Hope), Adam Hensley (Mishayla) and Jarrid Hensley (Tiffany); his great grandchildren, Neyland, Sadie, Liam, Emmie, Jonah, Temperance and Avery; his brothers, James Hensley (Betty) and Clint Hensley (Christine); and his sister-in-law Francis Hensley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
