He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt K. Hale and Carrie Salyer Hale of Virginia; his son Gregory Jerome Hale; and his sister Jackie Steele. He is survived by: his wife Veronica C. "Ronnie" Hale; his sons, Todd Jay Hale and Stuart Lee Hale (Tanya); his grandchildren, Krystal Cora Baker, Kayla Ann Hale, Alyshea Maree Hale, Virginia Mae Hale and Anthony Jay Hale; and his sister Phyllis Dearth. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
