It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Ann Quales of Gate City, Virginia, born in Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kyle Moore and Mary McKenzie Moore; her husband Tom Quales; and her sister Roma Jean Franklin. She is survived by: her daughter Becky Starnes (John); her grandchildren, Kellie Smarr (Will) and J. T. Starnes (Briana); her great grandchildren, Ashtyn Smarr and Emorie Smarr; her nieces, Lisa Franklin and Robin Ketron; her nephew Ben Franklin; her great-niece Kaitlyn Ketron; and her great-nephews, Jace Ketron and Maddox Ketron.
