It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Sturgill of Gate City, Virginia, born in Dayton, Ohio, who passed away on July 10, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Pearlee Sturgill Bowen; and his stepfather Jack Gilmer Pearcy, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Owens Sturgill; his daughter Amber Nicole Tipton (Nathan Hagy) of Gate City, VA; his siblings, Barbara Long of Gate City, VA, Debbie Tate of Gate City, VA, Sheila Ball of Kingsport, TN, Christy Atkinson of Kingsport, TN, Patty Hutchins of Kingsport, TN, Renda Faye Keith of Nickelsville, VA, Johnna Lane of Weber City, VA, Jimmy Pearcy of Hiltons, VA, Jack Pearcy of Weber City, VA, Kenny Pearcy of Duffield, VA and Bill Pearcy of Duffield, VA; his grandchildren, Alexia Balthis and Jacob Tipton; and his great grandchild Ellie Ann Faye Balthis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
