He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy Horton Lawson, Sr. and Ival Louise Lawson (Culbertson); his wife Evelyn Lawson; his former wife Rebecca Lawson; his grandchildren, Lucas Allen and Lacy Ellen Lawson; his nephew Toby Smith; and his siblings, Patsy Lawson Chandler, Helen "Toozie" Lawson, Johnny Everson Lawson and Luther Paul Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Sonya Lawson Marley, Stacie Wagers (Otis) and Edmond Lawson; his siblings, Ava Lawson, Betty Smith (Henry), Cathy Chandler (James) and Andy Horton Lawson, Jr. (Ida); his grandchildren, Whitney Gragg, Olivia Hawkins, Lucas Lawson, Lacie Lawson and Eustace Lawson; his great grandchildren, Oliver Gragg and Sabin Gragg; and his pet Dixie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ponderosa Cemetery.
