He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam L. Smith and Centenial Smith (Sheperd); his wife Eva Jean Smith (McDavid); his daughter Linda Jean Smith; and his brothers, Jack Smith, Raymond Smith and Sam Smith, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Karen McCrary (Smith) and Phil Smith (Robin Chapman); and his grandchildren, Summer McCrary and Marcus Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to the Alzheimer Association.
