It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harry Benjamin Stapleton Jr. (Weber City, Virginia), who passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Stapleton, Sr. and Clara Stapleton (Falin); his sister Linda Sexton; and his half-siblings, Loretta Starnes, Polly Falin, Charlie and Ed Stapleton.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Joan Stapleton; his daughters, Stephanie Buttry (Chris) and Penny Shadrick (William); and his granddaughter Hannah Dingus. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holston View Cemetery (226 Yuma Rd, Weber City, VA 24290).
