It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Mae Tipton of Gate City, Virginia, born in Clinchport, Virginia, who passed away on October 27, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Worley Thomas and Suda Miller (Taylor); her husband Claude Cecil Tipton; her siblings, Joyce Edwards, Mabel Clendenin, Reba Dishner, Luther Miller, R. J. Miller, Ray Miller and Cellus Miller; and her grandson Brian Barnette.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Burke (Bobby) of Gate City, VA, Vanessa Judalena (Tiffany) of Newport News, VA and Gregory Phil "Buck" Tipton (Brenda) of Church Hill, TN; and her grandchildren, Kristi Burke, Brian Burke (Amber) and Brent Polly. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
