It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Godsey of Gate City, Virginia, born in Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on December 12, 2022, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Allen Godsey and Nancy Godsey (Dougherty); his daughter Mattie Kora Godsey; his grandparents, Marion (Monk), Hannah Dougherty, Emmitt Godsey and Florence Collins; his uncles, Paul Crooke, Walter Ferguson and Dougherty; his daughters, Nikki Godsey and Haley Godsey; his grandson Braxton Eli; his brothers, Jerry, Hugh, Harold, Larry and Ronnie; his close friend Malika; his son Max (Nugget); his aunts, Shirley Pearson, Debbie Wallace and Catherine Crooke; his nieces and nephews, Allison, Nathan, Allen Kyle, Amanda, Molly, Cory, Hannah and Leah; his cousins, Diana, Linda, Lisa, Ramona, Stephanie and Buck; and his close friend Benny Lane.
