He was predeceased by: his son Charles W. Fugate, II; his sister Carolyn F. Hobson; and his niece Carrielyn Hobson. He is survived by: his wife Ann W. Fugate; his daughter Christy F. Smith (Steve Smith); his grandchildren, Blake Fugate, Ana Fugate, Palmer Smith, Wade Smith and Henry Smith; and his siblings, J. E. Fugate, III (Donna) and Phillis Plageman (Jerry). He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to Rye Cove United Methodist Church or Trinity United Methodist Church.
