It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert J. Writtenberry of Gasburg, Virginia, who passed away on December 2, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Writtenberry and Louise Weaver Writtenberry; his wife Hazel Lee Writtenberry of Writtenberry's Grocery; and his sister Shirley Doyle. He is survived by: his children, Stacy Lee Writtenberry and Kent Writtenberry (Kimberly Stagg); his grandson A. J. Writtenberry; his brother Jessie "Cha Cha" Writtenberry; his sister-in-law Alease Spence; his pet Missy; his friends, Steven O'Donnell and Julia Clary; and also Darlene. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home and Crematory (410 Windsor Ave, Lawrenceville, VA 23868). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church (175 Ankum Rd, Gasburg, VA 23857). A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (1090 Ankum Rd, Gasburg, VA 23857).
