It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Plina Lucille Smith of Galax, Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Reeves and Virginia Faye Eller Cole; her husband John Wayne Smith; her daughter Phyllis Angela Smith; and her siblings, Hazel Cole Bonham, Daniel Glen Cole and Bobby Steele Cole.
She is survived by: her daughter Patsy; her son-in-law Roscoe Davis of Galax, Virginia; her grandchildren, Emily (Corey Glessner) of Roanoke, Virginia and Adam Blevins (Katlin Snider) of Galax, Virginia; her great grandchildren, Adrienne, Lillian (Lily) and Melody Glessner; her sister Betty; her brother-in-law Dean Hackler of Independence, Virginia; her brothers, Chester (Beverly Cole), Gary (Becky Cole) and Gayle (Nancy Cole); her cousin Geneva Shaw; and her close friend Laura Estelle Fishel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
