She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernia Washington Sutphin and Mary Inda Newman Sutphin; her husband Hozy Montgomery; her daughter Janice Carol Montgomery; and her siblings, Dorsey Howard Sutphin, Posey Elmo Sutphin and Lillian Sutphin Branscome.
She is survived by: her sons, Bobby Montgomery (Teresa Bell) of Pilot Mt, NC and Ronnie Montgomery (Teresa) of Danville, VA.; her granddaughters, Christina Bowers (Eric) of Prince Frederick, MD, Anna Dalton (John) of Lynchburg, VA, Sarah Carter and Kelly LaCroix (Ben) of Charlotte, NC; her great grandchildren, Alex, Evan Bowers (Madeline), Joel, Leah Dalton, Deacon, DeAnna, Daniel Carter, Noah and Emma LaCroix; her great great grandchild Everleigh Bowers; and her niece Joyce Branscome Sutphin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and 2 sister-in-laws.
