He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Edwin and Mary Kanode Kirby; and his grandparents, Delmar, Lattie Kanode, Paul and Imogene Kirby.
He is survived by: his son Michael; his daughter-in-law Kayla Kirby of Galax, Virginia; his children, Daniel Kirby of Hillsville, Virginia and Mary Edmonds of Hillsville, Virginia; his grandchildren, Christopher Kirby and Alyssa Kirby; his sister Debbie Kirby Anderson of Galax Virginia; and his close friends, Linda Caudill of Fries and Anthony Choate of Galax, Virginia.. He is also survived by many cousins and aunts.
