He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Christman and Vergie Cox Funk; and his siblings, Janice Funk and Johnny Funk. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Sue Funk of Galax, Virginia; his sons, John (Michelle Funk) and Tony (Noela Funk); his grandchildren, Austin, Isaac, Eva, John Thomas and Joshua; his sister Naomi; and his brother-in-law Clinton Connor of Stuart, Virginia..
