She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Newman and Etta Lineberry Newman; her husband Glenn Burnette; and her daughter-in-law Phyllis Burnette. She is survived by: her children, Linda Burnette of Woodlawn, Virginia, Josephine (Gilbert Perry) and Larry Burnette of Galax, Virginia; her grandchildren, Rhonda Perry (German Gschwind) and Jason (Stephanie Burnette); her great grandchild Seth (Nikki Branscome); and her siblings, Alphajean Newman of Wilmington, Annadean (Bob Lovell), J. C. (Magalene Newman), Wallace (Geraldean Newman), Joe (Audrey Newman) and Wayne Newman of Mt. Airy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
