He was predeceased by: his parents, Gwyn Anderson and Ruby Trimble Anderson; his wife Kathy Anderson; and his siblings, Millie Getzinger, W. G. Anderson and Roger Anderson.

He is survived by: his sons, Joel Anderson of Winston-Salem, Jordan (Crystal Anderson) of Galax, Virginia and Jacob Anderson of Galax, Virginia; his grandchildren, Cole Pickett, Aiden Anderson, Liam Anderson and Harlow Anderson; and his siblings, Sonya Farmer of Galax, Virginia and Virgil Anderson of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
