She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Fender and Bertha Grace Riggins Fender; and her siblings, William Fender, Galena Hill and Doris Akers.
She is survived by: her son Charles; her daughter-in-law Laura Kemp of Independence, Virginia; her daughters, Deborah Beamer of Hillsville, Virginia and Tammy (Richard Patton); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin Marshall), Suzanne (Gary Horton), Jacob (Angela Beamer), Julie (Mark Greene) and Grayson (Stephanie Patton); her close friends, Mary Jane Carico, Carolyn Young and Sharon Barker; and also Susan Utt. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
