It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Grace Elaine Higgins of Galax, Virginia, born in Ivanhoe, Virginia, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Doc and Gracie Jones Woodel; her husband Thomas Earl Higgins; and her son Marvin Dennis Higgins. She is survived by: her children, Teresa (Clyde Combs), Mary (Jimmy Harmon), Lisa (Tom Singleton), Arlene (Steve Wilmouth), Lorrie (William Sexton) and William Earl; her daughter-in-law Brenda Higgins; her daughter Trena; her children-in-law, Mike Hammer and Elizabeth Melton; her grandchildren, Amy Jensen, David Singleton, Jason Higgins, Andrew Singleton, Robert Higgins, Eric Ryan, Samantha Taylor, Katie Newberry and Keith Sexton; her great grandchild Ian Jensen; and her grandchildren, Kaylee Singleton, Taylor Jones, Rylie Singleton, Kayden Higgins, Kinsley Singleton, Gavin Higgins, Jacqueline Ryan, Harper Higgins, Lexi Newberry, Carly McMillian and Kassie McMillian.
In lieu of flowers and food donations may be made to the Bishop's Chapel Church.
