It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Buddy Robert Swiney of Galax, Virginia, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on February 11, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James David and Mae Sutherland Swiney; and his brother James Swiney. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Donithan Swiney; his children, Angela (Brent Lundy), Ella (Tommy Bobbitt), Darell Waller (Amanda Ridge) of Galax, Virginia and Terry; his daughter-in-law Tifani Waller of Marion, Virginia; his brother Robert; and his sister-in-law Christine Swiney of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
