With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alexis Georgia Chapman (Galax, Virginia), who passed away on January 6, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Wells and Wendy Winchell Wells Jewtraw; her stepfather Leo Jewtraw; her son Gerard; and her husband Michael Chapman.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Chapman (Denise Stone) of Woodlawn and Rebecca Chapman of Galax; her grandson Adian Chapman of Richmond; her sisters, Amy Mace (Greg), Amanda Redman (Patrick) and Judith Geesler (Kevin); her daughter Rev. Lori A. Lower of Williamsburg; and her friends, Dave and Neva Swenson of Woodlawn.
The family will be receiving visitors at the home of Sally Richardson located at 440 Country Club Lane, Galax, Va. and request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the church or to the charity of your choice in Alexis' name.
