It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Thompson of Gainesville, Virginia, who passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Iris Thompson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Ray Slusher and Nellie Breeden Slusher; and her brothers, Glenn, Melvin and Stuart Slusher.
She is survived by: her husband Warren D. Thompson, Sr.; her sister Sophie Kidwell; her son Warren D. Thompson, Jr. (Dinah); and her grandchildren, Rebecca T. Wohlgemuth (Edward), Elizabeth D. T. Payne (Troye) and William B. Thompson. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members.
Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to Haymarket Baptist Church, the Alzheimer's Research Association, and/or Samaritan's Purse.
