He was predeceased by: his son Donald III (Ellen). He is survived by: his wife Judith (Patterson); and his children, Gregory, Carey Williams (David), Jeffrey (Margaret), Susan McCarthy, David (Marisa) and Michael. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS).
