He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl "Jimmy" Ellis and Thelma Knight Brooks; his wife Katherine Boyd; his father-in-law James Albert Boyd; and his sister-in-law Glenda Boyd.
He is survived by: his son Tommy Brooks, Jr. (Dorenda) of Fulks Run; his granddaughters, Hailey Shull (Kyle) of Weyers Cave, Shelby Foster (Kyle) of Jackson and Delaney Brooks of Fulks Run; his great grandchildren, Rylie Foster and Tate Shull; his siblings, Jimmy "Stevie" Brooks, Karen Payne (Carrol "Jimmy"), Cindy Morris (Galen), Jackie Brooks (Connie), Dale Brooks (Debbie) and Carl Brooks (Kim); his mother-in-law Reinetta Boyd; and his siblings-in-law, Kaye Andrews (Mark), Jimmy Boyd and Bobby Boyd (Gina).
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2 p. m. at Gospel Hill Cemetery with Reverend Samuel Goering officiating Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required.
