He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ellis and Thelma Blanche Knight Brooks; and his brother Tommy Brooks (Catherine). He is survived by: his children, Steven Brooks, Kristen Brooks (V. Q. Dang) and Ashley Brooks; his siblings, Karen Payne (Jimmy), Cynthia Morris (Galen), Jackie Brooks (Connie), Dale Brooks (Debbie) and Carl Brooks (Kim); and his grandchildren, Shalah Brooks, Asia Dang, James Brooks and Aliana Brooks.
