She was predeceased by: her parents, Baxter Hoover and Virginia Faulk Hoover; her brother James Warren Hoover; and her husband William E. Smootz, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, George Kelley VanOrden (Joyce), James Mason VanOrden and Lee Melani VanOrden; her grandchildren, George Kyle VanOrden (Kaylyn), Laura Lezotte (Joey), Jack Dalton VanOrden (Rachel), Aaron Tutwiler (Courtney) and Katie Wolfe; and her great grandchildren, George Marshall VanOrden and Carter Neal VanOrden.
