Richard William Smelser Sr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard William Smelser Sr. of Front Royal, Virginia, who passed away on June 21, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Smelser and Clara Mathews Smelser; his wife Margaret Smelser; his brothers, Lloyd Smelser, Roger Smelser and Lee Smelser; and his grandchildren, Chad Smelser and Stacey Prechtel.
He is survived by: his children, Richard William Smelser Jr. (Vanessa Van Meter), Joyce L. Smelser (Tommy Jenkins) and Jeanne A. Smelser (Jason Brittain); his siblings, Larry Smelser (Marsha) and Lorraine Brannon; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
