She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Compton and Freida Smelser Compton; and her sisters, Mary Simons, Aileen Hamrick and Dorothy Rudacille.
She is survived by: her husband Howard Wharton of Front Royal; her son Eugene Wharton (Sandy) of Stephens City, Virginia; her brothers, Paul Compton (Connie) of Front Royal, Carl Compton of Front Royal and Lawrence Compton (Donna) of Smithfield; and her grandson Reese Taylor of Stephens City.
