He was predeceased by: his parents, David Alfred and Marie Louise Gill Schmiedeknecht; and his brother Randall Charles Schmiedeknecht. He is survived by: his brother Terry D. Schmiedeknecht (Jackie); his niece Kristin Toman (Nathan); his great-nephews, Ethan and Owen; his nephews, Jeremy Schmiedeknecht (Amanda) and Stephen Coe (Melanie); and his sister-in-law Sandy Dearborn-Schmiedeknecht.
