He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis and Alice LaPorte (Bishop). He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie LaPorte; his children, Tonya LaPorte (Art Carlson) of Marquette, Dana LaPorte (Namid Phillips) of Ishpeming and Robert Fawley, Jr. (Sara) of Kennett Square, PA; his grandchildren, Olivia O'Connell, Emma O'Connell, Piper Rae Phillips, Sierra Carlson and Colton Fawley; his siblings, Stephen LaPorte (Germaine) of Grand Rapids, Jim LaPorte (Krystal) of Detroit, Vicki Sarasien (Tom) of Marquette and Cindy Benson (Joe) of Gwinn; and his half-sister Juanita O'Connor (Michael) of Laguna Beach, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
