He was predeceased by: his father James Sr. Pugh; and his siblings, Charles Pugh, Robert Pugh and Geneva Peyton. He is survived by: his wife Betty Darden Pugh; his children, Thomas Pugh (Cindy), James C. Pugh III (Gretchen) of Huntly, Virginia, Patricia Aadahl (Richard) of Williamsburg and Tracy Delaney (Russell) of Roanoke, Virginia; his brothers, George Pugh (Kimmy) of Huntsville and Franklin Pugh of Roanoke, Virginia; his grandchildren, Darren Pugh, Heather Shipe (Kyle), Holly Hoover (Jesse), Hannah Delaney, Cameron Aadahl (Jordan), Rachel Delaney and Samuel Delaney; and his stepgrandson John Randall Perry. He is also survived by four step great grandsons.
