She was predeceased by: her father Leonard Skeens. She is survived by: her husband Donald "Don" Parkes; her children, Carol Groves, Shirlene Engle, Judy Lynskey, Kathy Hartsell and Bub Hall; her brother Terry B. Skeens; and her close friend Iris Jenkins Cooksey. She is also survived by two step daughters; a step son; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
