He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bernard Russell and Mary Imogene Matthews; and his brother Rice Russell. He is survived by: his wife Mary N. Russell; his children, Charles L. Russell (Lashonda) of Broadway, VA, Colleen V. Russell of Washington, DC and Wyatt M. Russell of Front Royal, VA; his grandchildren, Ethan Russell and Camden Russell; and his siblings, Elizabeth W. Mackey (Rick) of Lake Mary, FL, Mary Leigh McDaniel (Kit) of Marshall and Joe Russell (Richard Cowling) of Richmond.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Drive, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
