He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Pfister and Emma Pfister; and his brother Charles Pfister. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Pfister; his children, Bernie Pfister Jr. (Rhonda), Scott Pfister (Glenda), Duane Pfister Sr. (Rosie), Kim Pfister and Nicole Kidwell; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Joshua, Glen, Megan, Kristen, Duane Jr., Adrianna and Tom Jr.; and his siblings, Mike Pfister and Maryann Glenn. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 9:00 AM at the LifePoint Church (1111 N Shenandoah Ave, Front Royal, VA 22630). A memorial service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Culpepper National Cemetery.
