She is survived by: her children, Basil Jackson Friend II (Annette Suarez) of Chester, VA and Virginia Lee Friend (Jenny); her husband Alberto Mena Chacon of Charlottesville, VA; her foster son Harvey Sexton of Galax, VA.; and her grandchildren, Jasmine Mansfield, Jade Dihr, Creighton, Sierra Suarez Friend and Gisselle Sexton (Amy).
