He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelmer Sexton and Gladys Vaughan Sexton; and his daughter Elaine Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Edith Sexton; his daughter Kim; his son-in-law Mickey Trimble of Fries, Virginia; his grandchildren, Keith, Cristin Nelson of Max Meadows, Allen and Paula Schafer of Marion, Virginia; his great grandchildren, Carri Buckley-Nelson, Xander Nelson and Dorian Nelson; his sister Mae; his brother-in-law Junior Thomason; his brothers, Roy (Mildred Sexton) and Virgil (Frieda Sexton); and his close friends, Jeanie, Susie Anderson, Wayne, Ruby Mabe, Tim Taylor, Joe Vaughan and Marshall Shupe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
