It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clayton Owen Dixon of Fries, Virginia, born in Galax, Virginia, who passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Dixon and Emily Beckner Dixon; his wife Betty Ruth Sawyers Dixon; his daughter Dama Alderman; and his grandson Keith Dixon.
He is survived by: his daughter Diane; his son-in-law Ernest Davis of Fries, Virginia; his son Donnie; his daughter-in-law Barbara Dixon of Galax, Virginia; his sister Dorothy; his brother-in-law Kenny Cook of Galax, Virginia; his grandchildren, Brian (Angela Dixon), Douglas Davis, Jennifer (Lee Coomes), Chris Dixon, Stephanie Robinson, Crissy (John Church) and T. J. Sumner; his great grandchildren, Matt Coomes, Emily Coomes, Jacob Robinson, Ethan Robinson, Ty Dixon, Jordan Peoples, Dougie Peoples, Lee-Lee Peoples, Dylan Dixon, Kylee Sumner and Kabel Sumner; and his close friends, Karen Wimmple and CheeChee. He is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
