He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie O'Neal and Iva Jones Vaughn; his daughter Pamela Jean Vaughn; his sister Darlene Martin; and his sister-in-law Sue Vaughn.
He is survived by: his daughter Amy; his son-in-law Johnny Lester of Fries, Virginia; and his brother Benton Vaughn of Morganton. He is also survived by six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333). A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333).
