William Thomas Kennedy Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 16, 2021, at the age of 89, William Thomas Kennedy of Free Union, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Canody and Mary Smith Canody; his siblings, Lillian Ballard (Willis), Mildred McGee (Dwight) and Theodore "Ted" Kennedy; and his sisters-in-law, Ida Davis Definbaugh (Diane) and Sally Davis Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby Davis Kennedy; his son Edward Kennedy (Jacqueline); his granddaughters, Kathleen Gill (Tom), Kelly Marchal (Matt) and Dorothy Hurt (Jed); his great grandchildren, Piper Gill and Mattie-Windsor Hurt; his siblings-in-law, Jasper, Charles Davis (Debi), Betty Jarrell, Sue Cassell (Larry), Mary Huffman and Bertha Kennedy; and his close friends, Margie Shifflett and Gene German. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
