It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Lucy Herring Wood of Free Union, Virginia, who passed away on November 12, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Robert Lee Herring; and her husband Curtis Tilman Wood. She is survived by: her children, Chester, David, Keith and Debbie; her brother Claude Herring (Dorothy); and her niece Renee Pace. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
